Lorin LaFave & Barry Bednar meet with Home Secretary to lobby US Department of Justice
Breck's parents met with the then Home Secretary Sajid Javid and MP Chris Philp to ask them to lobby the US Department of Justice. A successful meeting, it resulted in Snapchat being forced to release information about an account that had been used to send distressing messages to family members.

Breck's Last Game, YouTube video launched in conjuction with four police forces
The Breck Foundation collaborated with Northamptonshire, Essex, Surrey and Leicestershire Police forces to produce a film and lesson plans for use in schools. Watch the film here.

The Breck Foundation becomes the chosen charity for Banstead Village May Queen Carnival
The Breck Foundation were very fortunate to be invited to be The Banstead Village May Queen Carnival's chosen charity for 2019. We took part in the parade, and our founder Lorin spoke at the event.

NCH Students participate in a Dragon's Den-style marketing pitch
The National College of Humanities (NCH) conducted a competition to engage their marketing skills in a Dragon’s Den-style pitch for The Breck Foundation. Students were invited to innovate ideas for the Foundation to use as part of our future marketing campaigns.

Kent County Council Youth Conference
The conference, held in Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone, was attended by 1,500 pupils, who were invited for a day of health and wellbeing sessions, including presentations by Lorin.

Heads Up Conference, Brighton
Lorin was keynote speaker at this event that supported front-line educators and parents in understanding the threat of radicalisation. The project explored how extremists use digital and social media to engage vulnerable young people.

Festival of Education, Wellington College
The Festival of Education has become one of the most exciting and inspiring education events of the year and we were delighted, once again, to be given the opportunity to speak and to have a stand at the event.

Meeting at City Hall with The Deputy Mayor, Policing & Crime and The Victims Commissioner
The foundation met with Sophie Linden (Deputy Mayor, Policing & Crime) and Claire Waxman (Victims Commissioner) at City Hall to discuss online safety and collaboration opportunities.

Beaumont School Drama Department produce Game Over a play by Mark Wheeler
The play 'Game Over' has been created by the playwright Mark Wheeler for use in schools. The play educates children about Breck's story via their peers, using a performing arts medium. Children can be actively involved in performing the play in their drama production or in a classroom setting. Beaumont School beautifully demonstrated how the play can be re-enacted for the launch.

Day Lewis Pharmacy supports The Breck Foundation on their Family Fun Day
We were approached by Day Lewis Pharmacies to be one of their local charity fundraising recipients for this year. One of our representatives attended the event, which was a lovely, friendly day that we were privileged to be a part of. We were kindly given a very generous donation afterwards.

Surrey Primary Football League select The Breck Foundation as their charity of the year
We were very fortunate to be asked to be SPL's charity of the year, this was a great opportunity to raise awareness of key online safety issues. We received donations from their very generous parents and coaches and our celebrity ambassador Charlie Brooks (from 'Eastenders' and 'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me out of Here') attended their prize-giving day and also spoke at the event.

Sanderstead Community Fun Day
This family friendly annual community fun day asked us to participate by having a stall at the event. We were able to spread our key safety messages by talking to passers and we even held a raffle raising some funds for our cause.
