Breck Bednar
Story on Screen
The story of Breck Bednar has been told through several powerful documentaries and television programmes, each helping to raise awareness of the dangers young people can face online. These films share not only Breck’s life and tragic loss but also highlight the very real risks of grooming, manipulation, and exploitation in the digital world.
By shining a light on Breck’s story, these documentaries encourage families, educators, and young people to have open conversations about online safety. They remind us all why it is so important to equip children with the tools and knowledge to recognise red flags, set boundaries, and protect themselves online.
At the Breck Foundation, we believe that sharing Breck’s story saves lives. These documentaries are not only a tribute to him, but a call to action, to learn, to talk, and to make the online world a safer place for every child.

Breck's Last Game
Breck’s Last Game, is a short film about 14-year-old Breck Bednar who was murdered by a man he met on a gaming site. The film was made to raise awareness of online grooming and carries an important message – do you really know who your online friends are? The video was given to schools across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland from September last year as part of a wider resource pack and has already been shown to thousands of children in controlled screenings. Many secondary schools now intend to embed the resource into their yearly curriculum and have spoken of the impact it has had.
