The Breck Foundation welcomes the latest developments shared by Technology Secretary Peter Kyle regarding the implementation of the Online Safety Act. We are encouraged by the government’s commitment to making the digital world a safer space, particularly for children, through the enforcement of strategic priorities like safety by design, transparency, and fostering innovation in online safety technologies.

As an organisation dedicated to safeguarding children online, we understand the vital importance of embedding safety measures into platforms from the outset and ensuring accountability from tech companies. Every step toward tackling online harms—whether disinformation, exploitation, or cyberbullying—aligns with our mission to create a safer internet for all young people.

We extend our gratitude to the Secretary of State for his leadership and focus on these critical issues. Together, with the support of government, regulators, and campaigners, we can ensure that the Online Safety Act delivers on its promise to protect and empower the most vulnerable online.
