Helping Young People Reclaim the Internet
“I learned from the Breck Foundation what the word grooming meant and what impact it can have on people who are affected by it.”
- Kai, age 11.
“I learned all the signs of grooming and I think it was very helpful as I can tell my friends outside of school about it and feel safer. It was scary but I know how to be aware of it now.”
Year 6 pupil.

Satellite Presentations

What do the Satellite topics discuss?
Sessions for children and young people
Our Satellite Presentations can be added on to our normal speaker sessions or delivered as stand-alone sessions, usually in an assembly-style format.
We offer these educational topics to all students from the age of 5 up to 18. All presentations are interactive, age-appropriate and tailored to the year group that we are delivering to.
Fake News:
This presentation is aimed at supporting young people to develop skills in recognising misleading or deliberately false news whilst online. It also provides students with an understanding around the impact of sharing fake news, conspiracies, deepfakes and fake imagery, both on society and on individuals.
Digital Citizenship:
Our ‘Digital Citizenship’ satellite presentation looks at our behaviour online and explores the key factors of being a ‘good digital citizen’. We focus on sub-topics such as trolling, consent, sexting, hate-speech, and cyberbullying. We encourage pupils to reflect on their own behaviour online by being accountable for their choices.
Wellbeing Online:
With our ‘Wellbeing Online’ topic, we look at the impact that social media and technology has on our mental health and wellbeing. It explores some of the most essential topics for your students’ online life, including filters, editing, the ‘reality’ of online content, algorithms and harmful content.
COMING SOON - Artificial Intelligence (AI) - September 2025 - Pre-book this session now:
The world of AI is growing quickly and is becoming a staple in many young people's lives. We look at the different kinds of AI currently available, how it is used in our everyday lives as well as within different sectors such as gaming, education and mental health. Here, we also focus on the 'dark side of AI' and the risks around deepfakes, harmful content and bullying.
If your school have not yet booked our Speaker Sessions (https://www.breckfoundation.org/speaker-sessions), we would recommend that your students receive these first as our Satellite topics build on them for further learning.
These presentations are only offered in-person in certain UK areas. However, we do offer virtual sessions so if you are interested in booking, please do get in touch. For more information, visit https://www.breckfoundation.org/booking-forms
